This high-profile new construction project at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Driving Facility included installation of a multi-layer, fully adhered TPO roofing system with an integrated rooftop paver assembly. The roofing system was designed to support durability, aesthetics, and occupant use while meeting demanding performance standards.
The assembly consisted of a mechanically fastened 2-inch polyisocyanurate insulation layer secured to the metal deck, followed by a fully adhered 1.5-inch polyisocyanurate layer to enhance thermal performance and wind uplift resistance. A 5/8-inch DensDeck cover board was fully adhered to provide impact resistance and substrate stability. The system was completed with a fully adhered 60-mil white TPO membrane, with all seams, flashings, and penetrations installed per manufacturer requirements.
New membrane flashings, metal coping, scupper boxes, and downspouts were installed throughout the facility. A rooftop pedestal and paver system was then installed over the primary roof area, creating a durable walking surface while maintaining proper drainage and roof system integrity.
